Graininess in tallow balm is completely natural and purely cosmetic. It occurs when the natural fats cool at different rates, forming tiny crystals. This doesn’t affect the quality or performance of the product — once warmed between your hands, it melts smoothly into the skin. We always package our tallow balms smooth and creamy, but grit can develop during shipping if the balm melts and re-solidifies in transit. If you'd prefer a smoother texture, simply melt the balm gently (using a warm water bath), stir well, and place it in the fridge to reset. Good as new!

Our tallow is carefully rendered and purified, then blended with natural essential oils for a light, pleasant aroma. That said, tallow is an animal-derived ingredient, and while we take great care in processing it, some individuals may be more sensitive its naturally subtle scent.
